Butte County sheriff's officials have identified a woman whose body was found Nov. 14 in the Oroville area as Angela Mae Murray.
Murray, 40, was positively identified by fingerprint comparison through the California Department of Justice, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. Sheriff’s officials said Murray was a transient person who lived in the Lower Wyandotte and Oro Bangor area. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.
Deputies responded about 3:30 p.m. Nov. 14 to a 911 call from an individual reporting that a deceased person had been found near the 600 block of Dunstone Drive. Sheriff’s officials said Murray appeared to have been dead for several days at the time her body was discovered.
