The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department has released a composite sketch of a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in her North Highlands home Saturday.

The assault occurred in the area of Watt Avenue and A Street. Detectives believe that just after 4 p.m. a woman in her late 60s was walking to her home when an unknown man forced her into her home and sexually assaulted her, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release.

The man was described as African American, between 19 and 23 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds. He was said to have a “clean-cut” appearance with short black hair and no facial hair. At the time of the assault, he reportedly was wearing a bright red zip-up coat and khaki shorts.

The man left the residence on foot after the assault, and sheriff’s officials say it is not known whether he used a vehicle nearby.
