Reptiles evacuated from fire at Power Inn Road store

Firefighters normally called upon to rescue humans from burning buildings instead removed reptiles from a smoky fire Tuesday morning at a Power Inn Road business.

The small fire in a corner at SacReptile, 4101 Power Inn Road, was quickly extinguished. Sacramento Fire Department firefighters were called to the store at 9:20 a.m.

Although some animals did not make it, most were evacuated safely to the outside, according to a Fire Department spokesman. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
