Marysville woman, 92, found dead with gunshot wound
An elderly woman was found dead in her Marysville home earlier this week, the victim of a gunshot wound.
Marysville police were called to the residence of Gloria Booth, 92, in the 400 block of East 25th Street about 4 p.m. Monday, when she was found dead in her home by relatives. Lt. Jason Garringer, a police spokesman, said investigators are still trying to sort out the details in the case. They have classified the death as suspicious, but have not ruled out whether it was a homicide or suicide, Garringer said.
“We have done two searches of the house and a neighborhood canvass,” he said. “We are trying to find out what was going on in her life.”
Garringer said she likely died Saturday. He declined to say if there were signs of a struggle.
On Thursday night, Booth’s ranch-style corner home was brightly lit up inside. Her son, F.M. Booth, answered the door, but would only say the family was grieving.
“We’re really devastated,” he said. “She’s lived here for 70 years.”
The quiet neighborhood is dotted with large homes. Several neighbors had colorful Christmas lights festooned on trees and fences.
