A man died of gunshot wounds Thursday night in North Sacramento.
The sound of gunfire was reported shortly before 10 p.m., sending Sacramento police officers to the 2300 block of Empress Street, several blocks south of Del Paso Boulevard.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man on a sidewalk who had been shot at least twice. Sacramento Fire Department medical personnel pronounced him dead.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office on Friday identified him as Isaiah Rodarte, 25, of Sacramento.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to Empress Street to conduct an investigation. No “specific motive” has been found for the killing of the man, according to a police news release.
