Cause of death of man found along Elkhorn Boulevard will be investigated

A man’s body was found early Monday along the shoulder of Elkhorn Boulevard near Rio Linda, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The discovery of the man’s body at Elkhorn and 20th Street was reported around 4 a.m. Sacramento County coroner’s deputies then took the body.

The coroner’s office and the CHP will determine how the man died.

“We do not know the cause of death and we do not know if a vehicle was involved,” CHP Officer Rich Wetzel said.
