CHP: Motorcyclist stopped on Sacramento highway killed by big rig
A young motorcyclist was killed when he apparently stopped on a Sacramento highway and was struck by a big rig late Monday.
The crash on eastbound Highway 50 just west of 11th Street was reported in a 911 call shortly after 10 p.m.
The 18-year-old motorcyclist from Vallejo was eastbound on Highway 50 when he stopped in a lane, according to a California Highway Patrol news release. A big rig going in the same direction then hit him.
The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital, where he later was pronounced dead. No injuries were reported to the trucker, according to the CHP.
