A woman struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing a street in West Sacramento on Wednesday night has been identified by coroner’s deputies.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office website lists her as Maria Gonzalez, 62, of West Sacramento.
The collision occurred about 5:20 p.m Wednesday at the intersection of Sacramento Avenue and Yolo Street. Officers responding to the scene found Gonzalez on the ground in the middle of the street.
A West Sacramento police spokesman said she reportedly was crossing at the intersection, where there is no crosswalk, when struck by the vehicle.

Fire Department paramedics arrived, and Gonzalez was taken to UC Davis Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday.
The man driving the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigating officers, police said.
