A Citrus Heights homeowner’s surveillance camera has led to the arrest of a Sacramento woman that Citrus Heights police say is responsible for a rash of package and mail theft.
On Nov. 30, a surveillance video showed a woman taking packages and mail from a homeowner’s front porch. That video led to the arrest of Donna Marie Sieverin, 39 of Sacramento.
A copy of the high-quality video surveillance footage was provided to several media outlets, who subsequently aired the footage. The wide distribution of the video is credited with helping the police identify Sieverin. The police department received numerous tips because of the video, Citrus Heights police said.
Sieverin was arrested at her residence Friday afternoon on Gold Run Avenue in Sacramento. Police said she was on searchable probation in Placer County for a previous burglary. A search of Sieverin’s residence uncovered numerous stolen household packages, gifts and mail from more than 10 victims.
