The CHP wants the public’s help with identifying a driver who hit and seriously injured a 17-year-old girl as she crossed the street at an intersection.
The driver struck the girl when she entered the intersection at Fruitridge Road and Vista Avenue about 7:30 p.m Saturday after the signal light changed in her favor.
A vehicle, possibly a dark blue 2002 or 2003 Toyota Solara, was traveling east on Fruitridge Road and failed to stop for a red traffic light when it struck the girl, propelling her into the air before she landed on the ground, according to the CHP. The motorist fled in that vehicle.
The victim was taken to UC Davis Medical Center and treated for major injuries.
