Elk Grove police released a sketch Wednesday of a man sought in an attempted sexual assault this month on a city street.

Police said a 64-year-old woman was walking near Alpinespring Way and Meadowspring Drive about 1:30 p.m. Dec. 8 when she was pushed to the ground from behind by a man who tried to pull off her leggings.

The woman screamed as he began to pull down his sweatpants, causing the man to run, according to a police news release.

The woman suffered minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment.

The attacker is described as a young black man, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 200 pounds. He was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and white athletic shoes.
