Man hit by car in North Sacramento after pausing in street to sip beer
A man who paused to take a swig of beer in the street was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle Wednesday night in North Sacramento.
When Sacramento police officers arrived to the 2700 block of Rio Linda Boulevard about 7:30 p.m. they found a heavily intoxicated man in the street. His injuries indicated that he had been hit by a vehicle.
Witnesses told officers that the man was crossing Rio Linda Boulevard when he stopped to drink a beer. He was struck by a small pickup truck, whose driver did not wait around for police to arrive.
A police investigation is ongoing. The drunk man’s injuries were not life-threatening.
