Sacramento pedestrian dies of injuries suffered in Fruitridge Road crash
A woman died Sunday in a hospital from injuries suffered when she was struck by a van on Fruitridge Road.
Amy Hernandez, 74, of Sacramento was pronounced dead at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
She was struck by a van about 11 a.m. Thursday while crossing Fruitridge Road. The California Highway Patrol reported that Hernandez was walking in a marked crosswalk across Fruitridge Road at Lawrence Drive.
A driver turning from southbound Lawrence onto eastbound Fruitridge did not see Hernandez. The van struck Hernandez, who was taken to UC Davis Medical Center.
