Vallejo woman killed in freeway crash near Greenback Lane
A Vallejo woman suffered fatal injuries in an Interstate 80 crash near Greenback Lane on New Year’s Eve, the California Highway Patrol said Tuesday.
Lashawn Renee Lewis-Green, 28, was driving at a high rate of speed eastbound on I-80, west of Greenback Lane, about 11:20 p.m. Thursday when she lost control of her car. Her vehicle hit a metal light pole, according to the CHP.
Lewis-Green, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. It was unknown Tuesday whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident.
