Sacramento man accused of pointing laser at CHP helicopter

Sacramento police arrested a 50-year-old man Friday evening suspected of pointing a laser at a CHP helicopter flying above a south Sacramento neighborhood.

Joseph Medina was arrested on a probation violation and on suspicion of discharging a laser at an aircraft, the police department said.

According to police, a CHP helicopter was flying above the Lawrence Park neighborhood around 6 p.m. when a laser was pointed at the aircraft. Sacramento police narrowed in on Medina and he was arrested.
