Fatally stabbed man had confronted vandalism suspects in Foothill Farms

A man was stabbed to death Saturday in a Foothill Farms residential neighborhood, authorities said.

Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies received a 911 call just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday regarding a man who was yelling that he had been stabbed in the 5200 block of Verner Avenue, according to a department news release.

When deputies arrived, they found a 41-year-old victim suffering from stab wounds outside on the street. Deputies began CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives believe two male suspects were allegedly committing vandalism in the area, when the victim confronted them. The victim was then stabbed during the confrontation, officials said.

Investigators do not have a description of the suspects. The victim’s identity was not released, pending notification of family.

Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to call 916-874-5115.
