Two hurt in shooting at Elk Grove gas station

Two men were hurt during a Sunday night shooting at an Elk Grove AM/PM gas station.

According to witnesses, the victims were inside a blue four-door sedan along with four other men when the shooting occurred at about 6:20 p.m. at the AM/PM, located in the 8400 block of Elk Grove Boulevard near the Elk Grove Auto Mall.

“There was some sort of altercation inside the vehicle,” said Elk Grove Police Department spokesman Officer Christopher Trim. “Shots were fired inside the car. The two victims fled the vehicle.” He said one of the injured men was found at the AM/PM’s pump area. The second victim ran to a nearby business, but returned when officers arrived.

The assailants fled in the sedan, which was last seen heading south on Highway 99.

Police are investigating. The victims, who both suffered non-life-threatening injuries, were transported to a local hospital.

“So far, they have not been forthcoming with more information,” Trim said.
