Marysville police say they have arrested a man who they say used his vehicle to cause an officer to fall to the ground.
Police said on Tuesday they arrested Andrew D. Hicks, 23, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on an officer, resisting arrest, and hit and run.
Police said that at about 5:10 p.m. Dec. 27, Officer Leticia Reusser tried to get Hicks to exit his vehicle at the Flyers gas station, 929 Fifth St., where his pickup had been parked for hours.
Reusser had been called to the station by someone who was concerned about the driver’s welfare.

The officer contacted Hicks and identified him with his driver’s license. Instead of getting out of the truck, Hicks quickly reversed the vehicle, trapping the officer between the driver’s side door and the truck compartment, officials said.
The officer grabbed for the steering wheel and Hicks shifted into drive, throwing Reusser to the ground. The pickup then hit the officer’s patrol vehicle before Hicks again slammed the truck into reverse, causing Reusser to jump out of the way, police said.
Hicks sped away. Reusser suffered a minor injury to a leg.
