An Antelope man was arrested Saturday for grand theft despite a drastic haircut change and a wardrobe change apparently designed to avoid arrest.
A Rocklin police officer spotted Tra Truong, 18 – with a full head of hair and wearing a dark shirt – loading two $900 televisions into the back of a vehicle in the 5400 block of Crossings Drive in Rocklin. He fled on foot when confronted by the officer. The vehicle was registered to a relative of Truong’s and the relative recognized Truong as the robber on security camera video from nearby businesses.
According to the police report, officers contacted Truong and persuaded him to return to the scene. He arrived with a mohawk haircut and wearing a plaid shirt. He was identified as the robber even though he modified his appearance.
