Suicidal man surrenders to police after standoff
An allegedly suicidal man who police say wielded a knife outside an Oak Park home was detained by officers Tuesday.
The man made a call to police saying he was suicidal, according to Sgt. Bryce Heinlein, Sacramento police spokesman.
Police responded to a home near the 4700 block of 34th Street and made contact with the man, who had a knife, Heinlein said.
Police negotiated with the man for an hour and detained him about 11:30 a.m.. The man’s name was not released.
It is unclear whether he will face charges.
