An Oroville man driving a stolen vehicle led California Highway Patrol officers on an 11-mile pursuit that began in Butte County and ended near Yuba City.
The chase began about 10:33 a.m. Wednesday when CHP units began pursuing a stolen silver Toyota Camry in Butte County. The fleeing driver was southbound Highway 99 into Sutter County, where Yuba-Sutter Area CHP units took over from Oroville and Valley Division CHP officers. They were assisted by a CHP airplane that monitored the pursuit, according to a CHP news release.
The Camry continued south on Highway 99, then turned west on Lincoln Road, near Yuba City. During the pursuit, a Sutter County sheriff’s deputy was able to deploy a spike strip in front of the Camry, which disabled the vehicle.
The pursuit ended as the driver entered a driveway leading into a field on the south side of Lincoln Road, west of Township Road.

The driver, identified s Floyd Lorezo Lujan, 44, was arrested and booked into Sutter County Jail on suspicion of recklessly evading pursuing police officers, theft and unlawful taking or driving of a vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle and being an unlicensed driver.
CHP officials said the 2016 Camry was stolen from a car lot in Oroville.
