South Lake Tahoe police have released composite sketches of two men sought in connection with the Saturday night shooting death of a man in a motel parking lot.
Dennis Wright Jr., 40, was shot after a struggle with the men in the parking lot of the Beverly Lodge during a drug transaction.
Wright and his girlfriend, Kendra Ghiorso, both of Amador County, drove to South Lake Tahoe to sell 100 pounds of marijuana, according to a Police Department news release. During the transaction, two men tried to rob Wright and Ghiorso at gunpoint of the cash involved in the drug deal, police said.
The robbers struggled with Wright and Ghiorso in the parking lot and one or both of the robbers fired, according to police. Wright was struck multiple times and died after being taken to Barton Memorial Hospital.
