Coroner: Driver killed in Greenback Lane collision identified as woman from Granite Bay

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the woman killed in a collision Wednesday evening on Greenback Lane in Orangevale.

The coroner’s website identified her as April Hardin, 34, of Granite Bay.

California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Tommy Riggin said the crash occurred at 6 p.m. between Beech and Hazel avenues. Hardin was driving a Honda Civic west on Greenback Lane and turned left into the path of a eastbound pickup truck. The truck broadsided the Honda.

Hardin, the only occupant in her vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Riggin said Hardin was wearing a seat belt, and airbags in the vehicle deployed.

The driver of the pickup, a woman who also was alone in her vehicle, was taken to Mercy San Juan Medical Center complaining of pain, Riggin said.
