Father of the bride goes missing after Walnut Grove wedding

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department is attempting to find 55-year-old Prasad Moparti, who went missing after his daughter’s wedding Saturday at the Grand Island Mansion in Walnut Grove. Deputies are seeking the public’s help in locating the man.

Moparti was visiting the region from India, and he doesn’t know the area well. He is 5-feet, 10-inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. Officers searched the river banks and area near the mansion over the holiday weekend, said Deputy Tony Turnbull, the department spokesman, but they suspended the search Monday evening.

Witnesses told the deputies that Moparti went for a walk during the wedding reception.
