A: Robert Alan Kill, a retired San Juan Unified School District teacher, was arrested by Roseville police in October 2013 on suspicion of possessing child pornography and other related charges.

He was accused of videotaping girls without their knowledge for his own sexual gratification, according to a story in The Sacramento Bee.

Kill pleaded no contest in July 2014 to charges of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child younger than 14 and was sentenced to 8 years and 8 months in prison, according to Placer County Superior Court records. Now 64 years old, he is at Avenal State Prison.

Kill was a San Juan Unified teacher from 1979 to 2011. According to the district, he taught fourth grade at Woodside Elementary for eight years before moving to Barrett Middle School to teach a combination seventh- and eighth-grade class in 1987. In 1995, Kill moved to Orangevale Open, a K-8 school, and then to a third-grade class at Kenneth Elementary in 1997. His last assignment with the district was as a sixth-grade teacher at Oakview Elementary, where he taught from 2004 to his retirement in 2011.
