Dixon police report that a juvenile has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault at Dixon High School.
Police were notified Monday of the incident, which reportedly occurred at the school during school hours and launched an investigation in cooperation with the Dixon Unified School District, according to a Police Department news release. The suspect was arrested Tuesday.
Police said they and school district officials believe the alleged assault was an isolated incident and that the risk to students has been removed as a result of the arrest.
Brian Dolan, school district superintendent, issued a written statement Wednesday saying that the allegations were made Monday night and the district and police followed up on them Tuesday. He said it will take some time to complete the investigation. He declined to elaborate on the Police Department’s news release.

“I want to remind everyone that at the center of this incident are two of our community’s young people and their families and friends,” Dolan said in the written statement. “Their lives are changed forever regardless of the outcome of the investigation and any follow-up legal proceedings that may occur.”
