A mother traveling with her three young children was killed when the vehicle she was driving drifted off the road and overturned near Woodland.
The single-vehicle crash occurred about 2:40 p.m. Wednesday as a Ford Explorer was northbound on County Road 95, south of County Road 25, in a rural area southwest of Woodland.
Officer Keerat Lal of the California Highway Patrol said the driver for some reason allowed the vehicle to drift onto the right shoulder of the roadway. She then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll over several times.
Lal said the driver, described as a woman in her mid-30s from Woodland, suffered fatal injuries. He said the three young children, including an infant, did not appear to have any serious injuries but were taken to an area hospital as a precaution.
