One person was killed and others were injured in a two-vehicle collision late Wednesday afternoon in Davis.
The collision was reported at 5:16 p.m. at Second Street and Cantrill Drive, just north of Interstate 80. A van was westbound on Second Street traveling at a high rate of speed, when it broadsided a sedan making a left turn from Cantrill onto eastbound Second Street, said Lt. Thomas Waltz, Davis Police Department spokesman.
Waltz said the driver of the sedan, the only occupant of that vehicle, suffered fatal injuries. The driver has not been identified pending notification of family.
Waltz said there were multiple people in the van, but he had no information on the specific number or the severity of their injuries.
