Bicyclist suffers serious injury in Citrus Heights crash
A bicyclist suffered serious injuries and a major road was shut down after a crash in Citrus Heights.
Officers were dispatched about 9 p.m. Wednesday to Antelope Road and Zenith Drive, where a vehicle hit a bicyclist. The vehicle was westbound on Antelope Road, and the bicyclist was crossing the road.
The bicyclist, a man in his 20s, was taken by ambulance to a hospital. The driver stopped and cooperated with officers.
Police closed the road for eight hours to investigate. It reopened at 5 a.m. Thursday.
Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the crash, police said.
