Sacramento police say a man wounded Thursday afternoon in a drive-by shooting on a north Sacramento freeway overpass remains in serious condition.
The shooting occurred at 4:11 p.m. on the Norwood Avenue overpass of Interstate 80, where a man was shot by a suspect in a passing vehicle for unknown reasons, said Officer Traci Trapani, police spokeswoman.
The victim’s vehicle drifted into oncoming traffic, striking a white pickup truck. The driver of the truck was uninjured, she said.
The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, Trapani said. Police did not release the victim’s name.

Neither the suspect nor the suspect’s vehicle have been identified, she said.
Investigators were on scene during rush hour and closed the overpass, snarling traffic. Police recommend using alternate routes.
