A man who flagged down Sacramento Fire Department personnel and asked to be transported to hospital early Saturday will get a second trip tacked on after he apparently lost his temper along the way.
According to a police incident report, the unidentified man was in the 1300 block of J Street when he encountered the fire department crew. Everything was a go for a trip to the hospital until the man was told he could not take all of his belongings with him. Apparently, one of those possessions was a bottle. The man became angry and hurled the bottle at the fire staff, though his throw was wide of the mark.
The brouhaha, however, brought police into the equation. They helped detain the man before he was taken to the hospital. Details of his medical condition were not disclosed on the police report. But once the man is treated, he will be taken to jail and booked on an assault charge, according to the incident report.
