A man was arrested Monday after he allegedly put his hands on an officer’s shoulders and threatened him.

Tua Yang, 29, was arrested on suspicion of resisting an officer, threatening to commit a crime and a misdemeanor charge of committing an injury to a police officer.

The incident occurred about 7:20 p.m. when officers were at Bamford Drive and Kenelworth Way in the Valley Hi neighborhood on a call to deal with suspicious circumstances. Police said Yang reached into a squad car and grabbed an officer’s shoulders.

He also made a statement that he was going to kill officers, according to a police activity log.

When the officers got out of their car, Yang took a fighting stance and tried to slug one of them, police said. When Yang fled, officers chased him down.
