Elk Grove police seek the public’s help in identifying a man accused of robbing a Chase Bank branch shortly after noon Tuesday.
The man entered the bank at 5010 Elk Grove Blvd. about 12:13 p.m. and gave a teller a note demanding money. The employee, fearing for his safety, complied with the demand, according to a Police Department news release. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the man left the bank and was last seen walking away from the front entrance, police said.
The man was described as about 30 years old, 5 feet 11, weighing about 200 pounds, with short, brown hair and short facial hair. He was wearing a black “SF” baseball cap, sunglasses, a blue shirt with a black shirt underneath, black pants and black shoes.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Detective Bureau at 916-478-8060 or Crime Alert at 916-443-4357. Callers to Crime Alert can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Tips also can be sent to the Police Department via SMS text message by entering 274637 on a cellphone, followed by TIP732 and the message.
