Sacramento firefighters and police officers responded Monday morning to pull a man from a concrete-lined waterway near Interstate 80 and Northgate Boulevard.
The rescue occurred about 7:30 a.m. Monday at the stream near Western Avenue below an I-80 overpass. The man either jumped or fell into the water and was close enough to the bank that first responders were able to get him onto the shore without launching a boat.
It is not clear if he jumped or fell into the water. Firefighters took him to a hospital.
