Investigation of Placerville graffiti leads to juvenile’s arrest

Placerville police report that a juvenile has been arrested in connection with graffiti that has appeared throughout the city during the past couple of weeks.

The arrest was made Wednesday. Police said graffiti incidents had increased in recent weeks, and all the tagging was similar, indicating that it might have been the work of one person or group.

The juvenile was arrested following a probation search of his residence, according to a Police Department news release. The youth was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism and booked at El Dorado County Juvenile Hall.

Police said the graffiti was found along Reservoir Alley, in the Green Valley Road area and at El Dorado High School. The damage is estimated at more than $5,000.
