A Rancho Cordova man was sentenced in federal court Thursday to five years in prison for receiving child pornography.
Eric Worrell, 57, arrested about a year ago, will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release, according to a press release from the U.S. attorney in Sacramento.
Court documents say that a USB flash drive was found in a hallway outside the offices of the federal Department of Transportation in Sacramento. The flash drive, which was turned over to investigators, was determined to belong to Worrell, an employee of the federal Department of Transportation.
A review of the flash drive and Worrell’s work laptop found hundreds of child erotica and child pornography images, according to the press release.
