Shot fired during Placerville KFC robbery
Robbers fired a shot in a Placerville fried chicken restaurant earlier this week before fleeing with cash.
Placerville police responded to the KFC restaurant, 73 Main St., about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday on a report of an armed robbery with shots fired inside the fast food eatery.
Officers determined that two men entered the restaurant, one of them armed with a handgun, and demanded money. One shot was fired inside the business but no employees were injured and there were no customers inside at the time of the robbery, according to police.
The two robbers fled with an undisclosed amount of money just prior to the arrival of officers.
