An Auburn couple are in Placer County jail, accused of stabbing a man in the north Auburn area Thursday evening.
Arrested were Anthony Manuel Najera, 27, and Cora Lee Najera, 29. Anthony Najera was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, and Cora Najera on suspicion of being an accessory and parole violation.
The 24-year-old victim, who is also an Auburn resident, was taken to a local hospital with serious but not life-threatening wounds, according to a Placer County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Deputies responded to Rock Creek Plaza, at Highway 49 and Bell Road, about 6:43 p.m. after receiving a 911 call. When deputies arrived, they found the victim had been stabbed numerous times, sheriff’s officials said.

Detectives were called to the scene and soon identified the Najeras as suspects. The two were found a short time later and taken into custody. Both are being held without bail.
The vehicle involved in the incident also was found and seized for evidence, sheriff’s officials said.
