Motorists killed in West Sacramento crash are identified
Two people killed in a crash that closed a West Sacramento roadway for about five hours on Monday have been identified by coroner’s officials.
In addition to the two who died, two others were injured in the three-vehicle collision. Sacramento County coroner’s deputies identified one of the dead as Lloyd Eugene Tinsley, 37, of West Sacramento. Yolo County Sheriff-Coroner officials identified the second person killed as Stefanie Finnegan, 37, of West Sacramento.
Police spokesman Sgt. Roger Kinney said the crash occurred about 4:30 p.m. on Southport Parkway near Lake Washington Boulevard. Southport Parkway re-opened around 10 p.m.
Two people were trapped and had to be extricated by firefighters using the jaws of life. A helicopter ambulance transported victims to an area hospital, Kinney said.
No information was available on how the collision occurred.
