While his colleagues worked to extinguish a raging fire in the garage, a firefighter enters a smoky Rancho Cordova home last week – a dramatic event caught on the GoPro camera.

The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District firefighter equiped with oxygen breathing apparatus entered the darkened house in the 10600 block of Coloma Road Thursday afternoon to make sure nobody was inside. In the darkened house, he shines his flashlight and calls for anyone who might be in danger.

It turned out that nobody was home at the time of the fire. The family dog, who was in the back yard, was not hurt.
