An El Dorado County man was arrested Monday after allegedly shooting the tire of a motorcycle and threatening the rider in a road-rage incident.
The El Dorado County sheriff’s dispatch center received a 911 call about 3 p.m. from a man in the Mosquito area, saying his motorcycle tire had been shot by the driver of a truck.
Deputies and California Highway Patrol officers contacted the motorcyclist, who described a brief road-rage incident that resulted in him and the driver of a small truck stopping near Mosquito Cutoff Road. The motorcyclist said the truck driver got out of the truck with a firearm and pointed it at the motorcyclist. The truck driver shot at the motorcycle, striking the rear tire, and threatened the motorcyclist, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. The man then got into his truck and left.
Deputies found the suspect at his Mosquito residence. Following a preliminary investigation, deputies arrested 67-year-old Eric Lance Cullis Jr. on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, felony criminal threats and brandishing a firearm.
