Mountain lion spotted on Placerville school campus
A Placerville parochial school was placed on lockdown after a mountain lion was seen Wednesday morning on campus.
Placerville police said a call to the department’s dispatchers at 9:35 a.m. reported the animal on the campus of the El Dorado Adventist School, 1900 Broadway.
Officers checked the area, but did not locate a mountain lion. A state Fish & Wildlife warden was to set a trap at the K-12 school, and the lockdown was lifted.
