Witness says man stepped in front of light rail train
The Sacramento Fire Department reported that a pedestrian suffered minor injuries Wednesday afternoon after being struck by a light-rail train at 23rd and R streets.
Sacramento police Capt. Norm Leong said the incident was an attempted suicide. The train was headed east about 2:40 p.m. and approaching a station when a man jumped in front of the train. Leong described the man in his 20s or early 30s. He was taken to a hospital.
Sacramento Regional Transit reported that service on the Gold Line had been restored between the 13th Street and 29th Street stations.
