Holly, Sacramento

A: Anthony Devon Roberson-Anders and Kevin Lee Henry Jr. were convicted of first-degree murder in the robbery slaying of 43-year-old Colen Lugo in Caymus Park in Sacramento County’s Vineyard neighborhood in August 2013.

Both were sentenced to life in prison without parole. Roberson-Anders is at California State Prison, Cocoran, and Henry is at Calipatria State Prison in Calipatria.

According to stories in The Sacramento Bee, the shooting occurred about 11:30 a.m. during a marijuana deal between Lugo and the two men. Lugo was found shot while sitting in his company’s moving truck next to the park. People who heard the gunfire tried to help Lugo but could not get him out of the truck. He died at the scene.

The investigation initially led to Roberson-Anders, who was from Bakersfield but spent time in Rancho Cordova. He was arrested during a vehicle stop in Bakersfield. Detectives then identified Henry, also a Bakersfield resident, as a suspect and arrested him there.
