Olivehurst man identified as motorcyclist killed in crash with big rig

A motorcyclist who died April 20 in a collision on Interstate 80 near Northgate Boulevard has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Daniel L. Hansen, 45, of Olivehurst.

The collision occurred about 3:15 p.m. just north of Northgate Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, Hansen was eastbound on I-80 when he lost control of the motorcycle and struck the rear of another eastbound vehicle. The motorcycle then went under the rear wheel of a big rig.

Hansen was pronounced dead at the scene.
