Sacramento man identified as motorcyclist killed in I-80 onramp crash
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has identified a motorcyclist who died Tuesday after his motorcycle struck a guardrail of an Elkhorn Boulevard onramp to westbound Interstate 80.
Coroner’s deputies identified the man as Roman Ishchuk, 27, of Sacramento.
The crash occurred about 8 a.m. as Ishchuk was riding a 2003 Buell motorcycle on the westbound ramp. The motorcycle was traveling at high speed in the carpool lane when Ishchuk lost control and the motorcycle struck the guardrail, according to a California Highway Patrol news release.
Ishchuk died at the scene, the CHP reported. He was wearing a helmet, CHP officials said.
