Police seek to identify man suspected in Elk Grove burglaries

Elk Grove police are asking the public’s help in identifying a man captured in surveillance photos during a recent restaurant burglary.

The surveillance photos were taken during a break-in at the Kobe Steak and Sushi restaurant, 9134 E. Stockton Blvd. Police say the same individual is suspected of at least four commercial burglaries that occurred between April 12 and 23, and may have been responsible for other burglaries throughout the region.

The man is described as Asian, approximately 40 to 50 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 150 to 160 pounds. He has been associated with a gold or silver four-door vehicle, according to a Police Department news release.

Anyone with information regarding the burglaries is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Detective Bureau at 916-478-8060 or Crime Alert at 916-443-4357. Callers to Crime Alert can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Tips also can be sent via SMS text message by entering 274637 on a cell phone, followed by Tip732, the agency identification number, and the message.
