Four people were cited for selling alcohol to minors during a sting conducted by South Lake Tahoe police.
People under the age of 21 working with officers attempted to purchase alcohol at 10 spots in South Lake Tahoe on Friday. According to a police news release, the underage decoys were sold alcohol at four spots: Safeway Gas, 3376 Tahoe Blvd.; Chevron Gas, 3651 Lake Tahoe Blvd.; Whiskey Dicks, 2660 Lake Tahoe Blvd.; and Chevy’s Restaurant, 3678 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
The employees who sold to the minors face a minimum fine of $250 and possible community service time. In addition, the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control will take administrative action against the proprietors’ beverage license, police said.
