Delta teen dies after crash near Isleton
A teen from the Delta died after his car went out of control and struck a shed and a tree.
Paul Oropeza-Ramos, 18, died Monday at a Sacramento hospital, days after he suffered major head injuries in a crash near Isleton.
On Friday , Oropeza-Ramos was driving northbound on Isleton Road, north of the Isleton Bridge, and was coming out of a curve when his tires drifted off the right side of the roadway. He overcorrected to the left, but, in doing so, lost control of his car.
Oropeza-Ramos’ vehicle went across the southbound lane and off the roadway where it struck a metal-sided shed and trees. He was helped from the car by passing motorists who rendered aid before the arrival of medical personnel.
He was taken by helicopter to a Sacramento hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:26 p.m. Monday. The CHP identified Oropeza-Ramos as being from Walnut Grove, while the coroner’s website lists him as a resident of Isleton.
