A: According to Sacramento Superior Court records available online, Semaj Shawn Howard is to be sentenced June 10 in the death of 37-year-old Quincy Lacey.

Lacey’s body was found March 5, 2015, in the area of La Riviera Drive and the Howe Avenue bridge.

Sacramento police officers responded about 10:24 a.m. March 5 to the 7900 block of La Riviera Drive regarding a report of an individual who appeared to be dead. They found a man, later identified as Lacey, who apparently had suffered gunshot wounds.

A preliminary investigation found that a report had been received about 11:15 pm. March 4 of shots fired in the general vicinity of where Lacy’s body was found. Officers responding to that report were unable to find a victim or evidence that indicated a gun had been fired.

Howard, 51, was arrested and charged with murder in the case in June.
